JOB OPPORTUNITY FOR SCIENTISTS IN BRAZIL

The Little Prince Complex (a very large hospital, with a research institute and faculty) offers a new opportunity for young scientists to supervise PhD students in Curitiba (*), the capital of Paraná State, located in Southern Brazil. Four positions are available for researchers interested in working in a PhD Graduate Program named “Biotechnology Applied to Child and Adolescent Health.”

A successful candidate will have met the following criteria:
1)a PhD degree obtained before 2006;
2)a background with most of the publications (at least 15) related to the diagnosis, treatment and/or prevention of diseases (preferentially pediatric ones);
3)published regularly in the last 3 years;
4)the motivation to work 40h/week;

It is desirable (but not mandatory) that the candidate has supervised graduate students.
SALARY = U$52.000/year. In addition, the candidate may still apply for a research scholarship (more U$8000/year). Life cost in Curitiba is almost twice less expensive than in the cheapest regions of USA.

(*)The city of Curitiba has approximately 1,800,000 inhabitants (the majority being of european descent) and its weather, ecology and culture are very similar to Western Europe.
